A masterstroke of engineering and artistry, the Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal redefines what is possible when mechanical innovation meets uncompromising design.

Building upon the celebrated collaboration with Bugatti, this latest creation elevates the concept to its most exclusive form. The entire case is crafted from solid, transparent sapphire crystal, an ambitious feat that offers uninterrupted, 360-degree visibility into one of the most complex movements ever conceived.

Measuring 54 x 44 mm, the case is carved from blocks of corundum and requires more than 800 hours of meticulous machining to achieve its flawless clarity. This remarkable transparency unveils every intricate detail within, from the architecture of the movement to the instantly recognisable V16 engine block automaton, an homage to Bugatti’s hypercar DNA.

At its core lies the JCAM55 calibre, a movement engineered to mirror the structure and performance of a high-output engine. Among its most remarkable features is a 30-second flying tourbillon, the fastest ever developed by Jacob & Co., alongside a fully functional V16 engine automaton, complete with 16 moving pistons in constant motion.

Further reinforcing its automotive inspiration, the time display is executed through retrograde jumping hours and retrograde minutes, echoing the dynamic readouts of a high-performance dashboard. A dual power reserve indicator tracks both the movement and the automaton, while the crown seamlessly integrates activation of the animation sequence.

The automaton itself can perform up to 20 full sequences on a single wind, while the movement delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve, balancing theatrical complexity with enduring performance.

The Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal is limited to just two unique pieces worldwide: one rendered in Jacob & Co.’s signature green, the other in a distinctive baby blue, a personal favourite of founder Jacob Arabo.
