Basic Re-Shaping of Ring or Solid Bangle

Our Jewellery Care Plan is available in 5 or 10-year options, with pricing tailored to your piece. The cost is based on the item’s current retail price, not the purchase price, ensuring fair and transparent coverage.

Care Plan Terms & Conditions

Care Plan T&C's

(1) Hardy Brothers PTY LTD ACN: 009 665 212 contracts with you to provide the service offered under the Terms and Conditions;

(2) In purchasing the Jewellery Care Plan, you acknowledge that you agree with the Terms and Conditions and that you have had the opportunity to read the contents of that section;

(3) Provided no service has been conducted, this Agreement may be cancelled within 21 days of purchase for a full refund;

(4) All requests for service under the Jewellery Care Plan must be lodged with a Hardy Brothers store. Postal lodgement may be made to: PO Box 2500 Fortitude Valley Business Centre QLD 4006. The Hardy Brothers Jewellery Care Plan brochure and
purchase receipt must be provided on each occasion together with the item to be serviced.

(5) Our liability under the Plan is limited to the extent that the total cost in parts plus labour expenses to maintain the
jewellery item does not exceed the original price of the jewellery;

(6) Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: To cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Annual Inspection Requirement

To ensure continued eligibility and effectiveness of the care plan, an annual inspection must be conducted. The client agrees to participate in a scheduled inspection once every 12 months. Failure to complete the inspection within the required timeframe may result in suspension or termination of the care plan until the inspection is completed and compliance is confirmed.

To Obtain Service

To obtain service under your Jewellery Care Plan, produce the covered item along with the Plan document and your ID that must match with your Jewellery Care Plan to a Hardy Brothers store. Unauthorised modifications and repairs are not covered under this Plan.

What Is Covered

The following services are covered upon purchase of your Jewellery Care Plan:


(1) Annual ring resizing (two sizes up or down) within our qualified Jeweller’s recommendations to ensure the structural integrity of the ring and any set gemstones; note, not all styles of rings are suitable for resizing and are excluded from the service under this Care Plan;

(2) Re-tipping of claws

(3) Gemstone tightening;

(4) Refinishing and polishing;

(5) Cleaning and inspecting;

(6) Earring repair – tightening of clasp or hinges, broken butterflies (not lost).

(7) Chain and bracelet soldering, including shortening (lengthening is not permitted);

(8) If the item purchased is made with white gold, a professional rhodium plating service will be provided once per year for the rhodium-plated parts of the jewellery;

(9) Resetting diamonds and gemstones (replacement will only occur if deemed a manufacturing fault);

(10) Clasp tightening or repair (excluding hinged bangles and complete replacement);

(11) Complete re-shaping of ring/bangle

(12) Repair worn bail

(13) Complimentary clean, inspection, and polish of your jewellery piece once every twelve months. As part of this Plan (5 Year or 10 Year), all repairs and inspections will be conducted at Hardy Brothers’ in-house service centre by suitably qualified jewellers.

What Is Not Covered

Exclusions include:

(1) Where the original Jewellery Care Plan documentation cannot be produced at the time of service or ID provided does not match the name on the Jewellery Care plan, the claim cannot proceed;

(2) Damage caused by accident, misuse, tampering of the item or abnormal wear and tear;

(3) Modifications, alterations, or repairs conducted by a party other than Hardy Brothers, which will void the Jewellery Care Plan;

(4) Minor cosmetic damage including scratches, peelings or dents;

(5) The separation or loss of gemstones resulting from a cause that is not a direct result of a manufacturing defect;

(6) The chipping or cleavage of gemstones due to accidental or unnatural force;

(7) Supply, replacement or repair of diamonds and gemstones;

(8) Re-shanking of rings;

(9) Repair or replacement of damaged bangle hinges;

(10) Repairing dents in hollow chains, earrings, bracelets, bangles, and pendants;

(11) Modification of the item that changes its original design;

(12) Restringing of pearl necklaces and
bracelets;

(13) The loss of use of the item whilst it is being serviced is not covered under the Jewellery Care Plan;

(14) The Jewellery Care Plan is not transferable through sale, other than to whom it is gifted at the time of its original purchase;

(15) Where a defect occurs to a part or the whole of the item and the cost of repair is greater than the original purchase value of the jewellery item, Hardy Brothers reserves the right to exchange the jewellery item with one with the same or similar characteristics and design;

(16) The Jewellery Care Plan is not an extension of Warranty;

(17) The Jewellery Care Plan does not cover Sterling Silver Jewellery;

(18) The Jewellery Care Plan is not transferable between items purchased.

(19) Damage resulting from loss, theft, malicious damage, pandemic, vandalism, collision, fire, flood, acts of God, war, and civil unrest.

Cancellation

We will cancel your Plan:

(1) When your piece is reasonably deemed as unrepairable by a Hardy Brothers professional jeweller; or

(2) If you have any repair work undertaken by a repairer or jeweller that is not a Hardy Brothers professional jeweller. You can cancel your Plan and receive a full refund any time within 21 days of the purchase date, provided that no services have been provided under the Plan. Without limiting your rights under the ACL, you can also cancel your Plan at any other time during the term, but no refund shall be payable to you. Once cancelled, you will no longer receive services under the Plan. To cancel, contact us by phone or email or visit any Hardy Brothers store with your ID.

Renewal

We do not offer renewals.

Terms of Coverage

The term and coverage of this Jewellery Care Plan begin on the date of purchase and continue for either five years in the case of the 5 Year Care Plan or ten years in the case of the 10 Year Care Plan.

The Plan expires on the earlier of:

(1) The end of either the five-year or ten-year term;

(2) When the original item associated with the Plan is replaced with another of equal or greater value in circumstances that are not an ACL claim;

(3) When you cancel this Plan; or

(4) When the total parts and labour costs reach the value of the original purchase price of the item

Eligibility

A Jewellery Care Plan is not available for all items. Ask instore to see if a Plan can be purchased for that item.

Limit of Liability

Without limiting our liability under the ACL, our total aggregate liability under the Plan is the purchase price paid for the product covered. In the event that the total aggregate value of all services provided under the Plan is equal to or exceeds the purchase price of the product, all obligations under the Plan are deemed to be fulfilled.

Hardy Brothers respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. When you purchase a Jewellery Care Plan or request a service under the Plan, we collect personal information such as your name, contact details, identification, and purchase history. This information is used to administer and deliver the services set out in the Jewellery Care Plan, including verifying your identity, assessing eligibility
for service, and maintaining accurate service records. Your personal information may also be used for related purposes, such as improving our services, complying with our legal obligations, managing our relationship with you, and, where permitted by law, contacting you with information about related products or services. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time. Your information will be handled securely and only disclosed to third parties where required by law, where necessary to provide the service (e.g. to our repair technicians or IT service providers), or with your consent.
