Introducing the Supernova Collection
A groundbreaking collaboration that places a Bremont watch permanently on the Moon
Unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, Bremont has announced a historic milestone in horology: a collaboration with American aerospace company Astrolab that will see the Bremont Supernova Chronograph become the first British watch to reach the Moon, and remain there permanently.
Launching alongside this achievement is the bold new Supernova collection, expanding Bremont’s established Sea, Land, and Air universes into a fourth frontier: Space.
A watch destined for the lunar surface
The Supernova Chronograph will travel aboard Astrolab’s FLIP (FLEX Lunar Innovation Platform) rover as part of Astrobotic’s Griffin Mission One, scheduled to land at the lunar south pole no earlier than summer 2026.
Having undergone rigorous testing at Astrolab’s facilities, the timepiece will be exposed to the extreme conditions of space before becoming a permanent artefact on the Moon, marking the first time a watch will remain on the lunar surface indefinitely.
This mission arrives at a defining moment in history, as global organisations work toward establishing Coordinated Lunar Time by the end of 2026. The presence of a precision-engineered timepiece on the Moon underscores humanity’s enduring pursuit of measuring and mastering time, now extending beyond Earth.
Bremont x Astrolab: built for exploration
This collaboration reflects Bremont’s long-standing philosophy of purposeful engineering and adventure-driven design. Known for creating robust tool watches designed for the world’s most demanding environments, Bremont now extends its vision into space.
CEO Davide Cerrato describes the partnership as a meeting of shared values in innovation, exploration, and pushing boundaries. Astrolab founder Jaret Matthews adds that the mission will test critical technologies in one of the most extreme environments imaginable.
Prior to launch, both the Supernova Chronograph and FLIP rover will undergo “Protoflight Qualification” testing, an intensive programme simulating and exceeding real mission conditions to ensure survival in space.
The Supernova collection: a new frontier in design
The Supernova Chronograph represents the first release within Bremont’s new Space universe, positioned at the top of its collection hierarchy alongside Supermarine, Terra Nova, and Altitude.
Crafted in 904L stainless steel, the 41mm integrated sports chronograph introduces a bold, futuristic design language inspired by spacecraft architecture and orbital engineering.
Key design elements include:
- A geometric, multi-faceted case and decahedral ceramic bezel
- A three-dimensional dial inspired by solar array structures
- Super-LumiNova® detailing with a striking blue emission glow
- Integrated bracelet or rubber strap with quick-release functionality
- Chronometer-rated BC77 movement with 62-hour power reserve
Every detail reflects precision engineering, from the angular surfaces of the case to the luminous grid-like dial structure that evokes energy and motion in space.
The Supernova Chronograph is more than a new collection, it represents a defining moment in horology. As humanity prepares to establish lunar time standards, Bremont’s presence on the Moon symbolises a powerful link between heritage craftsmanship and future exploration.
This is a watch designed not only to measure time, but to travel beyond it.
