April's Birthstone - Diamond
THE DIAMOND
April’s birthstone, the diamond, is defined by its clarity, strength, and enduring appeal. Formed deep within the earth over billions of years, each stone reflects a natural process shaped by time and precision, resulting in a gemstone known for both its resilience and refined beauty.
Diamonds have held significance across centuries, evolving from rare curiosities of the natural world to enduring symbols of commitment and celebration. They continue to define fine jewellery, distinguished by their brilliance, precision, and enduring elegance.
Fine jewellery featured is from our Baguette Capsule.
THE CUT
Cut plays a defining role in a diamond’s character. Beyond shape, it determines how light moves through the stone, impacting its brightness, fire, and overall presence. The round brilliant remains the benchmark for maximising sparkle, while oval and emerald cuts offer a more elongated, understated elegance. Cushion cuts, with their softened edges, balance classic and modern design.
THE COLOUR
While the classic white diamond is the most recognised, diamonds occur in a spectrum of colours. Subtle champagne hues, cool greys, and more vivid tones such as yellow and pink offer a contemporary perspective on a traditional stone. These variations are the result of trace elements and unique conditions during formation, ensuring no two diamonds are exactly alike.

Featured on the left is a VAULT® 7.44 carat Yellow Diamond and 1.04 carat Diamond Ring in 18ct Yellow and White Gold and on the right is a 0.75ct Diamond Wave Ring with round brilliant cut diamonds, styled with a Wave Ring.
THE CLARITY
Clarity refers to the natural characteristics formed within a diamond as it develops beneath the earth’s surface. These internal and external features, often microscopic, are part of each stone’s individual identity. While many are not visible to the naked eye, clarity influences the way light travels through the diamond, contributing to its overall brilliance. Carefully selected for balance and beauty, diamonds of higher clarity offer a more uninterrupted play of light, enhancing their refined appearance.
THE CARAT
Carat denotes a diamond’s weight, offering a measure of its presence and scale. While larger carat weights are often associated with rarity, true beauty lies in the harmony between carat, cut, and proportion. A well-cut diamond of any size can display exceptional brilliance, reflecting light with precision and elegance. Whether chosen for subtlety or statement, carat is ultimately an expression of personal style, thoughtfully considered alongside the qualities that define each stone.
Timeless yet continually reinterpreted, the diamond endures as a cornerstone of fine jewellery, valued for its versatility, craftsmanship, and lasting significance.
