Hardy Brothers becomes the Exclusive Australian Angelus Retailer

Hardy Brothers has unveiled its exclusive partnership with Angelus, marking the next chapter in its enduring legacy as Australia’s most revered fine jeweller and Swiss timepiece destination

As the only fine jeweller in the Southern Hemisphere to hold a prestigious Royal Warrant, Hardy Brothers continues to redefine luxury, intertwining history with modernity. Its addition of Angelus is a testimony to Hardy Brothers’ relentless pursuit of perfection and innovation.

Angelus was founded by the brothers Stolz with the establishment of a watchmaking Manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland. Angelus has been one of the most influential horological manufactures of the last century. Watchmaking connoisseurs universally hailed Angelus' pioneering, in-house developed movements and timepieces, which continue to be coveted by collectors all over the world.

Today, Angelus is fully equipped to design, produce, finish, assemble, regulate and test all its movements and timepieces in-house. The Angelus collection blends the very best of vintage high watchmaking with contemporary design and materials. Over the past century, Angelus forged a fine reputation for creating exceptional chronograph and multi-complication wristwatches, multi-display travel clocks with long power reserves, and alarm watches.

The brand marked several firsts along the way, including Chronodato (1942), first series wristwatch chronograph with calendar; Chrono-Datoluxe (1948), featuring the very first big date in a chronograph wristwatch, Datalarm (1956), first wristwatch ever featuring both alarm and date function or Tinkler (1958), cult timepiece, first automatic repeater and first fully waterproof repeater. An entirely new Angelus collection launched in 2022 & 20223, that combined the rich heritage of a 132 years old company.

In 2015, Angelus was revived as a “manufacture of exceptional timepieces” in the spirit of innovation of the Stolz brothers and this, with technical and graphic tourbillon pieces. This year, they present the first tribute collection to their famous chronograph calibre presented 80 years ago, in 1942.
