Bremont Elevates the Altitude Collection with the Limited Edition Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23

There are moments in watchmaking where heritage and innovation meet in perfect balance. The latest release from Bremont achieves exactly that with the Altitude Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23 — a hand-wound, limited edition of just 40 pieces worldwide.

This new model marks an evolution within the Altitude collection, a line first introduced in 2025 as the next chapter of Bremont’s celebrated MB aviation watches. Built around the signature three-piece “Trip-Tick” case architecture, the collection continues to explore flight-inspired design through models such as the MB Meteor, Altitude Chronograph GMT, Altitude 39 Date, and special editions like the MB Meteor “Felix the Cat”.

A Vintage Soul with a Modern Edge

At the heart of the Pulsograph sits a rare new old stock Valjoux 23 calibre from Valjoux, one of the most iconic chronograph movements of the 20th century. Originally introduced in 1916, this column-wheel movement was used by some of the most respected watchmakers in history, including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, and Vacheron Constantin.

Each movement has been carefully sourced, restored, and finished in collaboration with haute horlogerie atelier Chronode, blending historical character with modern refinement.

The salmon-pink dial draws directly from the aesthetic of 1930s and 1940s chronographs, offering a warm, vintage feel with modern execution. A mix of brushed and grained textures creates depth and movement across the surface, while stencil-style numerals in black gold ensure strong legibility.

Subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock deliver a balanced layout, with a subtle “panda” contrast enhanced by brushed silver finishes. Surrounding the dial is a pulsometric scale, a nod to early medical chronographs once used to measure heart rates using movements like the Valjoux 23.

The 42mm case is crafted in lightweight titanium using Bremont’s signature Trip-Tick construction, offering strength without excess weight. At just 12.52mm thick, the watch wears slim and comfortably on the wrist.

A chocolate brown nubuck strap with ecru stitching completes the design, reinforcing its warm, vintage-inspired character.

Working with Chronode, Bremont has reimagined the finishing of the Valjoux 23 rather than replicating traditional styles. Sandblasted surfaces are paired with polished details, creating a contemporary contrast that highlights the movement’s historic architecture.

As Davide Cerrato, Bremont CEO, notes, the goal is not imitation but evolution, taking iconic design codes and allowing them to move forward in time.

A Limited Expression of Modern Heritage

The Altitude Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23 is a confident expression of Bremont’s design philosophy: technically refined, historically grounded, and built for modern exploration. Limited to just 40 pieces, it stands as one of the most distinctive interpretations within the Altitude collection, a true meeting point of aviation spirit and horological history.
