Conceived by Jacob & Co. as a study in structural transparency, this piece exposes the full mechanical theatre of its movement while wrapping it in a case that commands attention from every angle — 458 pavé-set diamonds, totalling approximately 6.49 carats.
At the heart of the Epic X beats the exclusive manually wound skeleton Jacob & Co. JCAM45 calibre. Its barrel and balance wheel are vertically aligned, creating a striking visual axis that draws the eye through all 158 individually finished components. Balance screws remain fully visible on the front side, while the patented "octopus spring" time-setting mechanism stands as a signature of Jacob & Co.'s uncompromising approach to mechanical artistry. The movement is protected by an anti-shock system and delivers 48 hours of power reserve, oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour across 21 jewels.
The 44mm stainless steel case, 13.05mm in thickness, is entirely paved with 458 diamonds, transforming the exterior into a continuous surface of brilliance. A light blue aluminium crown and inner ring introduce a bold chromatic accent against the polished brilliance of the diamond setting. The sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating, and the sapphire case back offer an uninterrupted view into the mechanism from both sides, while water resistance to 50 metres ensures the piece is as capable as it is captivating.
The bridges are adorned with the storied "Clous de Paris" hobnail guilloché decor, a decorative technique reserved for the finest Genevan watchmaking traditions. Skeletonised hands sweep across the open dial, marking hours and minutes with quiet precision amid the visual complexity of the exposed calibre beneath.
A rubber strap finished with a Cordura textile pattern offers a refined tactile contrast to the case's diamond-set brilliance, secured by a stainless steel ardillon buckle — combining everyday wearability with uncompromising presence on the wrist.
