The collection shows the artist’s refined sensibility and unmitigated love of the beautiful things around her. From the Simpson Desert in spring, to a vase of flowers in her sitting room, Claire finds beauty from all her environments. Claire considers watercolour to be unrivalled in its ability to convey the more dramatic effects of light. The key to this is the transparency of the paint in conjunction with the paper. The white background contributes to the contrast and luminosity.
