Each piece begins with the study of the live animal portrayed. A wax prototype is made by the artist, detailing the special features of the species. Cast in sterling silver, each figure is sculpted, smoothed and polished. The enameling process involves a technique of meticulously hand painting layers of overlapping enamel onto the silver, giving each of the creatures depth, definition and character.
